Effective August 17, 2026

This policy describes the current V1 product and operational behavior. If Help text conflicts with this policy, this policy controls.

Purpose

Research Rill is for legitimate survey creation and response collection. Use must respect respondents, other people, and the reliability and security of the service.

Prohibited content and activity

Do not use Research Rill to create, request, promote, or distribute content or activity that is unlawful or materially harmful.

  • No illegal or dangerous-content facilitation, threats of violence, or instructions intended to enable serious wrongdoing.
  • No harassment, hateful targeting, intimidation, stalking, or abusive campaigns against individuals or protected groups.
  • No sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate content, or content that exploits or endangers minors.
  • No impersonation, phishing, fraud, deceptive credential collection, or materially misleading surveys intended to cause harm.

Privacy and security

Do not use surveys to defeat privacy expectations or compromise systems or accounts.

  • Do not request passwords, authentication secrets, payment-card security codes, or other credentials for the purpose of account takeover or fraud.
  • Do not collect, publish, or distribute personal data without appropriate authority, notice, and safeguards for your use case.
  • Do not distribute malware, malicious links, exploit payloads, or instructions intended to compromise another system.

Distribution

Survey links and invitation capabilities must be distributed responsibly.

  • Do not use Research Rill for unsolicited bulk messaging, repetitive spam, or deceptive traffic generation.
  • Do not share invitation files or links in ways that knowingly defeat their single-use purpose or expose recipients unnecessarily.

Service integrity

Do not interfere with Research Rill's quotas, rate limits, availability, or security controls.

  • Do not bypass or automate around response limits, invitation limits, rate limits, entitlement checks, or moderation restrictions.
  • Do not probe, scan, exploit, or access accounts, surveys, respondent sessions, admin functions, or infrastructure without authorization.
  • Do not intentionally exhaust database, Redis, browser, network, or application resources or disrupt other users.

Intellectual property

Do not upload, reproduce, or distribute survey content that you do not have the right to use. Formal copyright notices requiring evidence or attachments need the production operator's separately published contact channel.

Enforcement

Research Rill may investigate reports and take proportionate action to protect respondents, owners, and the service.

  • Actions can include rejecting activity, suspending a survey, disabling an account, preserving evidence under a retention hold, or other necessary administrative restrictions.
  • Moderation does not silently rewrite survey lifecycle history or delete collected data unless a separate authorized deletion/retention action applies.

Reporting concerns

The public survey-report workflow is deliberately privacy-conscious and category-only.

  • Use “Report this survey” for spam/deception, harassment/hate, illegal/dangerous content, privacy/personal-data concerns, or another policy concern.
  • If a notice requires a response, supporting files, or formal legal correspondence, use the production operator contact channel once published. Public launch is blocked until that channel and operator identity are supplied.
